ANNISTON — Kolectic Treasures Antique Market is preparing for a fresh start after moving into a bigger space in the Anniston Plaza, behind Scooter’s Coffee.

In late November, after being located at 4406B McClellan Blvd. for the past decade, the store began to move into the old Save A Lot grocery building for more growth, according to owner Jason Kellner.

“We needed other businesses to kind of help our business to draw more in and it was just time to grow, be better,” Kellner said.

While Kolectic is still in the process of renovating the new space, a soft opening has given customers a look into what is to come for the store. The vendors from the previous location have moved their items in and there is currently a waiting list of 67 new vendors, according to Kellner.

“We should have about 275 vendors all together once we’re full. We’re not officially open but hopefully we’ll have our grand re-opening sometime in February,” Kellner said.

For now, the business has just moved its employees over to the new building.

Lacey Carpenter, one of Kolectic’s employees, said the move has brought in many new customers now that they are in a more visible spot.

“A lot of people said they didn’t realize we existed after 10 years of being open,” Carpenter said.

Kellner hopes this move will bring in more customers and vendors for a nice and different experience.

“We want to offer something to Anniston that they haven’t seen in a long time in an antique mall,” Kellner said.
